Trump….Hiding in Plain Sight
I am sitting here once again trying to wrap my brain around some of the nonsense going on in relation to the upcoming election. While I am not one, I actually have many friends and family that I love that are Trump supporters….and frankly it is getting more and more difficult to watch as the days, minutes, and seconds count down to this cataclysmic and defining moment.
First of all, many of the most loving, kind hearted people I know claim that saving babies from being aborted is their sole motivation in their devotion to Trump. (As a side note, I doubt he cared that fetal tissue was used to create his Regeneron “cure”.) Priorities…
Let me be clear — I am not pro-abortion. I think it is one of the saddest things that takes place in our world. There are a multitude of issues concerning children that make me equally sad…children being murdered by their parents (an everyday occurrence in today’s world). Children being tortured, neglected, and abandoned by the people that are supposed to love them. Again, I am not saying these children should have been aborted, but I am not sure we are equipped, or should I say, willing to protect and care for all of the babies that would be born without them. The people I hear crying out to outlaw abortions the loudest have comfortable lifestyles. They have nice houses, nice neat yards, and beautiful Facebook posts of fun vacations. Have they adopted any children?…have they made sacrifices they are hell bent on having others make? Have they even made strong efforts on supporting a struggling family with young children? Not the ones I know….and where do they live?…in nice suburban neighborhoods where there is room to grow, low crime, and a Starbucks on every corner with money in their wallet to stop in and treat themselves.
Despite not wanting woman to choose an abortion, the Republican party seems to be continuing to try to limit social service programs, housing assistance, and affordable health care.
